Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians Welcomes New President, Dr. Lynetta Stiltner

The Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians (KAFP) is proud to announce that Lynetta Stiltner, DO, FAAFP, has been installed as the new President of the Academy. Dr. Stiltner brings a deep commitment to family medicine, mentorship, and community health to her leadership role.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the role of President of the Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians,” said Dr. Stiltner. “The KAFP is more than a professional organization—it’s a family of physicians dedicated to the health and well-being of our Commonwealth.”

Dr. Stiltner outlined her vision for the coming year with three central priorities: (1) Growing membership, (2) Strengthening mentorship, and (3) Advancing quality healthcare for all Kentuckians.

“Membership is not just about numbers,” she said. “It’s about connection, mentorship, and advocacy. Every new member brings new energy, new ideas, and new opportunities to strengthen family medicine in Kentucky.”

Dr. Stiltner emphasized the vital role of mentorship in shaping future generations of family physicians. “We must be deliberate about lifting up medical students and family medicine residents. By investing in them now, we ensure that the next generation of Kentucky family physicians is strong, supported, and ready to lead.”

She also reaffirmed her commitment to addressing Kentucky’s most pressing health challenges—including access to care, chronic disease, and mental health. “By strengthening primary care, we strengthen the health of Kentucky,” said Dr. Stiltner. “When we come together, our Academy becomes a voice not just for doctors, but for the families we care for.”

As President, Dr. Stiltner aims to foster unity and collaboration across the state’s family medicine community. “Together, we will grow this Academy, strengthen our profession, mentor the next generation, and make a lasting difference in the lives of Kentuckians—no matter their ZIP code.”
